‘Will Bartercard be good for my business?”
This is, naturally, one of the first questions a business will ask when considering the Bartercard proposition. More and more, businesses will go to Google to get a sense of what other businesses have to say about Bartercard and its benefits and drawbacks.
Already this blog has demonstrated that it attracts people who are either looking to express their dissatisfaction about Bartercard or commend it to other businesses. That’s not surprising.
The web is already full of comments (in all kinds of places; business forums, blogs, articles etc) about Bartercard. This blog (as its subtitle indicates) is currently acting as a kind of ’sacrificial anode’ – a lump of metal designed specifically to draw the ions out of seawater so they’ll rust the anode and not the more important steel structure around it. If you get the offshore oil and gas metaphor…

Its rubbish, smoke and mirrors no substance and little credibilty. Very shonkie.
I have recently started working for Bartercard and find I get alot of satisfaction helping businesses use Bartercard.
I have worked in the media industry for many years and have often come across business people that blame their tools for their lack of business success.
Bartercard is just another business tool one which you have to learn how to use successfully for it to work for you.
Just like the hot water tap at home you have to tweek and adjust it to get just the right temperature for you.
Bartercard now has over 70,000 business members worldwide. Do you really think that many busineses would use Bartercard if it didn’t work?
Thanks for your comment, Tilly.
You make a very good point about how easy it can be to blame your tools for your own lack of understanding.
However, negating peoples’ actual experience by telling them they don’t know how to use the tools you sold them or that they’re in a minority isn’t – in my experience – a good move.
That approach risks creating the following 3 results:
1) It confirms the unhappy customer’s unhappy feelings about the company – resulting in more negative word-of-mouth
2) It means Bartercard doesn’t have to learn or change anything
3) It means that prospects get a clear, advance indication of how they’ll be treated if/when things go wrong.
It’s great that you are positive about the company, and many people on this blog and out there are too.
Hope these points help.
I am a Bartercard user of approx 4 months, a Property investor of 18 Years and have become one of Bartercards top traders . It is sad to see comments like Cinnie’s one above, as it is truely a reflexion on the bartercard brokers not helping this client to make it work for her business. I have found with all its warts that Bartercard is an extreemly good tool in business. I have purchased 1.5 Mil worth of Property using bartercard at 100% or 50% of the purchase price, along with many small deals that i woldnt be able to do in cash economy. I find that once you get your head around it it is actually better than cash! Yes Better…. not in its value, but in the trading of it.. Its magic! if it hasnt worked for you please give me a call, I can help you to make it work.. I dont work for Bartercard..
